A Corner in Tysons
Stopped by Tysons the other day
You can tell it use to be country out here
The increasing skyscrapers are tasteful and spaced out
Like somebody stuck them in the ground when the ground was still a farm
Change is changing
Since I was young I've seen things in things
Angles and Shapes
in the sky
in the clouds
in the trees
I walked for a bit
Found a closed hotel
Nature immediately moved back in
The trees posed and postured beside their decaying concrete invaders
As if to say “I won”
I read the Earth always wins, and we are in another cycle of that as we speak
The Earth’s gonna reset and repeat
My food was ready
